Luing Stores and Post Office is at the heart of the Luing community as it’s the only shop on the island and is a licensed general store for all grocery and household needs, gifts, cards and local arts and crafts. A friendly welcome awaits you.
Since taking it on in November 2018, Birgit Whitmore and Norman Bissell are offering an extensive range of locally sourced goods and produce. As well as offering teas, coffees, hot chocolate, bovril, ice lollies and sweets, the shop has a wide selection of wines, artisan beers and spirits.
Award-winning freshly made sourdough bread is supplied by the Luing Bakery on Tuesday and Friday mornings and mouth-watering buttery rowies on Saturday mornings. Delicious quiches from the Island Kitchen are also made and supplied to the shop on Tuesday mornings. Books by Luing authors are also available.
The Post Office provides a vital service to islanders and visitors since, as well as postal services, it offers a range of banking services for cash withdrawals and deposits as well as payment of pensions and household bills.
The noticeboard outside the shop is kept up to date and is a great source of information about what is coming up on Luing.
Car parking and outdoor seating in front of the shop is free.
